Release schedule for development series

1.  Release Stages

The release procedure has three stages:

• alpha, development snapshot/technical preview
• beta, after beta 1 there will be no more big features
• rc (release candidate), at this stage only bug fixes are allowed

Please note that the developers are bunch of volunteers working on their own spare time on this project and there is no way how to make classical release schedule and order people to work on certain deadlines. The only way how to speed up things is to help us fix the bugs which hinder releases. Almost all LyX releases have long months of delays so if you are making private estimates of the final release use some multiplication constant like 2 or 3. Thanks for understanding.
