Emacs' bibtex-mode and working with BibTeX-files

A few tips:

• To get help in Emacs, use the shortcut C-h f bibtex-mode
• Read the online documentation
• Use templates to start new entries, e.g. use C-c C-e a to add an entry for an article, or click in the menu Entry-Types->Journal_Article...
• 'Clean' the entry (C-c C-c) after you've filled the fields, this will also check the syntax of the entry.
• Use M-x bibtex-validate to check the syntax of all the entries in one go.
