This page discusses character styles in LyX

Character styles in LyX

Character styles are used for similar things as paragraph styles in LyX, except that they refer to a number of characters and not to a whole paragraph.

There are two examples for how to define character styles distributed with lyx in .../layouts/:

• db_stdcharstyles.inc
• agu_stdtitle.inc

To format text accroding to character styles in a document insert a new charstyle inset.
