How to use LyX for articles in the Journal Astronomy & Astrophysics (A&A).
1. Description
The Journal of Astronomy & Astrophysics provides guidelines and a LaTeX-package for articles.
2. Installation
- Download this archive file: http://ftp.edpsciences.org/pub/aa/aa-package.zip
- Assuming that you are using MiKTeX, create a subfolder named aa in MiKTeX's latex package folder, e.g.
C:\Program Files\MiKTeX\tex\latex\aa
and extract the archive file there.
- Create a subfolder named aa in MiKTeX's BibTeX style folder, e.g.
C:\Program Files (x86)\MiKTeX 2.9\bibtex\bst\aa
and extract there the file aa.bst from the archive.
- To make the new files visible for MiKTeX, use the Start menu Programs->MiKTeX->Settings and press there "Refresh FNDB".
- In LyX use the menu Tools->Reconfigure, and then restart LyX.
3. Installation of the A&A class on OS X 10.10
- Quit Lyx
- Create Lyx directory: ~> sudo mkdir /usr/local/texlive/2014/texmf-dist/tex/latex/lyx/
- Copy aa.cls into the directory /usr/local/texlive/2014/texmf-dist/tex/latex/lyx/
- Get aa.layout from Applications/LyX/Contents/Resources/layouts/
- Copy aa.layout to /Users/username/Library/Application Support/LyX-2.0/layouts/
- Update Tex for the aa.cls: ~> sudo texhash
- Update Lyx for the aa.cls: Open LyX, and then go to LyX > Reconfigure, and Restart Lyx
4. Example
LyX includes the example file aa_sample.lyx.
5. Template
LyX includes the template file aa.lyx.
